Engage with stakeholders
SNS was founded in 1999 by Erik Fagerlind and Peter Jansson, born out of love and curiosity about the culture and lifestyle around sneakers, fashion, art, music, and basketball. At the core of their operations is collaboration. SNS has had over 200 collaborative projects with big brands in the industry.
Besides sneakers, SNS also invests in collaboration for entertainment. Their store in New York City has a bar underneath it, a restaurant in Tokyo, and a club in the basement of its store in Berlin.
The company is also ultimately concerned about labor standards and employee relations. That is why they have launched the initiative SNS Cares, through which they seek to contribute and improve our communities and environment. In some of SNS's recent projects, they collaborated with the JMJ Foundation, Whenweallvote, Charity Drop for UNICEF and global initiatives focusing on sustainability.
The main relevance of SNS for ESG lies in its contribution to addressing social issues and governance.
SNS is committed to transparency and to improving their work for diversity and inclusion. By engaging with stakeholders, Sneakersnstuff is able to gain a better understanding of their concerns and expectations related to sustainability and incorporate these perspectives into their decision-making. This can help to build trust and strengthen relationships with stakeholders, while also improving the company's overall sustainability performance. Additionally, by involving stakeholders in the sustainability decision-making process, Sneakersnstuff can create a sense of shared responsibility for sustainability, which can lead to more effective and long-lasting sustainability outcomes.

SNS made progress from 24% to a total of 28% of female managers globally at SNS in the last 6 months. They are planning to use the Gender Proportionality Principle (GPP), to ensure that the Executive team will reflect the Mid Management team in terms of women in higher management positions.
One challenge that is worth mentioning is that of achieving more gender representation and diversity across the organization. SNS has found it challenging to map wage gaps and gender representation especially in regions where this is applicable by local regulations. To overcome this, they’ve decided to implement changes even before the issues were mapped out, establishing a reviewed hiring process to ensure that a diverse team is built, representing the marketplace. The company also invested in workshops, training and education around privilege and diversity as well as to empower people to pursue their career dreams.
