The Folgado Training Center is located in front of the Valencia Sud metro stop in a privileged setting, surrounded by nature in a rural environment but just one metro stop from the city of Valencia and 7 km from the sea where our new CFFolgado Port headquarters with maritime-fishing training specialties. They are pioneers in being "Educational Center for the Common Good" alternative economic system based on an ethical and sustainable economy at the service of people, becoming a lever of change at an economic, political and social level. In this way, CF Folgado participates in the promotion and dissemination of the challenge posed by the 2030 Agenda, through our exhibition of good practices aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals, contributing towards their achievement.

It is very important that companies not only generate value economically but can generate value from the moment they are interested in employees, suppliers, customers.

The Folgado Training Center has improved its image abroad. It has been recognized as a responsible company and interested in making small changes that are important to its value chain. Changes have been made in aspects of conciliation, equality plans, environmental awareness, interest in environmental aspects and being a pilot of changes for them. It has created new synergies such as the network of school gardens. On the other hand, it has improved its involvement in social issues, enacting, for example, a project on "sustainable leadership" called impact plus.

It has also been awarded by clients with recognition for the good management of the clientele and the value chain. All this has improved the business culture itself.

ISO 140001 has been implemented in order to recount and quantify the actions carried out. On the other hand, the Center has maintained the measures since the first time it carried out the ECG project. In turn, as a result, the workforce has been maintained, training actions aimed at vulnerable groups have been noted. Suppliers also participate in Folgado’s actions and they have made agreements with them, such as the Mosaic Network.

“One of the biggest challenges is selecting this type of business model and maintaining it over time.

We must be aware that there are drawbacks such as not knowing what type of "norms" you take as a basis: ECG, GRI... we must make the selection based on what the company considers to be correct and is part of its business culture.

Learning and being guided will be another fundamental point.

In our case, for example, there are not too many ECG auditors, in turn doing a company-to-company audit is more complex because we have just started. Luckily now this is more consolidated.”
