Abstract

Netrix Group is a dynamically developing Business Environment Institution subject to the accreditation system for innovation centres. It bases its activities on 4 pillars: Innovation, Audits, Startups, R&D. The aim of the company is to develop the innovative activities of small and medium-sized enterprises. It bases its activities on trust and an in-depth analysis of the entrepreneur's needs. It provides pro-innovative advisory services and search for adequate sources of funding for the development and implementation of innovations.

From the beginning, the company has tried to apply CSR principles in its business life, but it is not a professional in this area. Finding itself in a crucial period of development for the company (reorganisation of internal structures, increase in employment, etc.) gave rise to the need to use the services of professional companies and consultants specialising in CSR tasks. The decision was taken to implement CSR in the company and to take part in the project.


Relevance

This company is an example of good practice, as the IOB Netrix Group carried out a corporate social responsibility project entitled: Implementing Corporate Social Responsibility Solutions at the 'NETRIX GROUP'. This project lasted from 2014 to 2015 and significantly contributed to improving the image and organisation of work in the company. The aim of the project was to implement the principles of social responsibility in all three areas: environment, employee relations and social involvement. In view of the positive and measurable benefits achieved in the first phase of social responsibility implementation, the company plans to continue its CSR activities.


Concepts addressed within ESG

Netrix Group takes ESG concepts into account in its operations. These are positive environmental impacts - the company, in order to reduce its negative impact on the environment, has taken measures such as, for example, replacing the lighting sources in its premises with greener and more energy-efficient ones.

It also focuses on good relations among staff and staff with management. It does this by establishing a staff development programme within the company, an employee appraisal system, introducing transparent and understandable employee appraisal rules or creating opportunities for upskilling among staff.

In terms of the company's social impact, Netrix Group has first and foremost increased the company's credibility as a reliable business partner and fair employer. In order to spread the idea of sustainable business, it has a business advisory service for developing a corporate development strategy that takes into account the elements and principles of corporate social responsibility (CSR).


Impact & Achieved Results

Thanks to the implemented project, the company has achieved many results that have had a positive impact on its operations. As a result of the measures taken, it has gained benefits such as:

  • increased credibility of the company as a reliable business partner and fair employer,
  • improved staff qualifications,
  • reduced negative impact on the environment, e.g. replacement of lighting sources,
  • increased competitive position of the company,
  • creating career paths and a staff development programme within the company,
  • introducing transparent and understandable rules for employee evaluation,
  • developing a high standard of customer service and a new standard of service delivery,
  • raising the standard of service provision,
  • optimising the company's organisational structure.

Indicators of performance and success

The Netrix Group's performance and success indicators cover 3 main areas: work organisation, clear information flow and environmental protection. The company considers the implementation of an electronic employee appraisal system to be its greatest success, as it has improved internal communication - regular exchange of information, regular feedback surveys. The employee appraisal system has enabled the introduction of charters for both full-time and casual, freelance or co-op employees.

Challenges and recommendations

In order to further develop and implement activities of a sustainable character, the next step for Netrix Group will be to undertake the implementation of CSR activities in the context of external relations - marketing activities, consumer issues, etc. As such, the company faces challenges in maintaining a good brand image, attracting new loyal customers, and spreading the word to reach audiences interested in its ESG activities.

In order to meet these potential challenges, the company should focus on attracting and retaining the best employees, as well as increasing staff engagement, as the company's continued success will depend mainly on its employees. It is also important to adequately advertise the company and its activities, among other things this can be achieved by increasing the presence on, for example, social media. Another important step along the way will be to develop an appropriate business strategy that fits the realities of the current market situation.
