La economía circular es un paradigma de producción y consumo que promueve la reutilización, reparación, reacondicionamiento y reciclaje de los recursos y bienes existentes durante el mayor tiempo posible. Se trata de una alternativa al modelo económico lineal clásico, que se basa en un ciclo de tomar-fabricar-consumir-tirar. El cambio de las industrias hacia la circularidad es de gran importancia.
