Abstract

Frylite is Ireland’s leading supplier of fresh cooking oil and collector of waste oil. With a reputation that has been built on exceptional quality products and service, we have an unbeatable wealth of knowledge and expertise of the food service sector throughout Ireland. At Frylite, we provide the complete oil management system, with a ground breaking all in one oil supply and waste collection service.


Relevance

We also make every effort to minimise our Carbon Footprint from our day to day operations but it is our Used Cooking Oil collection service which really sets us apart in the fight against Climate Change. We supply over 30,000 tons of the Freshest available cooking oils to the hospitality and food manufacturing sectors throughout the island of Ireland. We however also collect over 20,000 tones of used cooking oils from the same businesses within the hospitality and food manufacturing industries.

Benchmarking how they are consuming energy and how they are producing their products. They are committed to financially being accountable.


Impact & Achieved Results

The diversion of this waste oil from landfill has a CO2 emission saving of 3.2 tons CO2 Equivalent per ton of used oil.

That’s a whopping annual saving of over 64,000 tons of CO2 Equivalent saved from entering the earth’s atmosphere

Challenges and recommendations

Getting customers on board. The business has been around for over thirty years and the oil collection and reuse is newer and it took some time but they now have 8,500 customers who can now see the benefits they have demonostrated.

They also have a trusted partner in Irish BioFuels who can convert 100,000 litres of waste oil for them daily. This new fuels results in a 9% reduction in emissions as compared to petrochemical diesel.
